Cost Accountant Overview:Join our team as a Cost Accountant, supporting financial management and project cost analysis for our growing construction company. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate tracking of project expenditures, supporting effective budgeting, and facilitating transparent financial reporting to stakeholders.Responsibilities:Prepare and analyze cost reports for multiple construction projectsReview project budgets and track actual costs against estimatesMonitor job cost allocations and variance explanationsCollaborate with project managers to verify purchase orders, invoices, and expensesReview labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs for accuracy and documentationEvaluate change orders and their financial impactSupport month-end and year-end close related to project accountingMaintain cost accounting records and construction project filesAssist with forecasting and identifying areas for cost improvementProvide financial summaries to management and support strategic business decisions
