Equipment Operator (Overnight Shift) Bohemia, NY

About the Role
Join a leading manufacturing facility in Bohemia, NY as an Equipment Operator on our overnight shift (11pm 7:30am, Monday to Friday). Play a vital role in our packaging and manufacturing operations by operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting specialized folding and gluing equipment. Be part of a dedicated team focused on quality, safety, and continuous improvement in a GMP-regulated environment.

Responsibilities

- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot folder-gluer and related manufacturing equipment to ensure consistent production flow
- Perform preventive maintenance, minor repairs, and equipment adjustments for optimal machine performance
- Conduct in-process quality checks and monitor product output against standards
- Read and interpret technical documentation, schematics, and measurements for equipment operation and maintenance
- Accurately complete production documentation and maintenance records in compliance with GMP and SOPs
- Collaborate with manufacturing, maintenance, and quality teams to resolve equipment and process issues
- Support safety, quality, and efficiency improvement initiatives
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area

Required Skills and Experience

- High School Diploma or GED
- At least 1 year of manufacturing or maintenance experience
- Mechanical aptitude with strong troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to lift and maneuver up to 70 lbs
- Valid vision test certification (renewable every two years)
- Willingness to work in an industrial environment and handle chemicals

Preferred Skills

- Experience with industrial equipment maintenance and repair
- Background in GMP-regulated manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with folding machines, press operations, or similar specialized equipment
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures, electrical systems, PLCs, and control systems
