About the Organization: Met Council is New York’s premier social services agency dedicated to serving low-income New Yorkers and fighting poverty across the five boroughs. Through crisis intervention, food networks, affordable housing, domestic violence support, and senior services, Met Council delivers compassionate, dignified support to individuals and families in need.
Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our team and contribute directly to program operations, client care, and community impact. In this role, you will work closely with clients, staff, and community partners to deliver high-quality social services and advance the agency's mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Service Delivery & Coordination: Oversee daily program logistics, client outreach, intake, or administrative operations depending on department needs.
- Client Engagement: Provide compassionate support, resource navigation, and direct assistance to community members.
- Compliance & Documentation: Maintain accurate client records, data tracking, and reporting in accordance with agency, funding, and legal standards.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal departments and external community organizations to maximize program reach and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Relevant background or degree in social work, human services, public administration, or related fields.
- strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to navigate complex social service systems with cultural humility and empathy.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
salary: $28.85 - $30 per hour

Responsibilities
- Own the first impression: greet every visitor and caller with warmth and confidence, ensuring each person’s impression of Met Council is a positive one.
- Own the arrival experience end to end: confirm appointments in advance, send guests entry and ID instructions, and pre-register visitors with building security so no one is left waiting in the lobby.
- Plan and run staff touchpoints and office traditions that build culture and morale across the office.
- Support new-hire first days: partner with HR and IT so that badge and building access, workspace setup, and a warm welcome and tour are ready on Day 1.
- Manage phones and visitor flow: answer and direct calls, welcome and announce visitors. Handle mail, packages, and deliveries.
- Keep the office well-stocked with supplies and snacks and ensure that common areas are always clean, welcoming, and comfortable.
- Serve as the front-desk point of contact with building management: flag and escalate anything that affects the arrival or office experience (elevators, lobby cleanliness, temperature, lighting) and follow up until resolved.
